AYSO Region 1447 Albuquerque - Westside

Content

Good Morning

Hope this message finds your families well!

My fellow board members and I had a virtual Zoom meeting!

Based on the governor’s decision to extend the health order to the end of May, we will not be able to restart the Spring Season. The board’s best hopes are we may be able to consider some sort of program in June; we will inform you what our decision is after the governor’s announcements at the end of this month.

The Spring Season

For years, we have strived to keep costs low for our Westside soccer families, and we wish to continue doing our very best; therefore, for all returning players we will be discounting the registration from $120 to $110.00. All new player registrations are $120.00.

If you registered for the first time for our Spring Season, we will be offering you the option of receiving a refund minus the cost of your child’s uniform which is $25.00. We will be offering the option of carrying forward the mentioned discount for returning spring players, or the refund of your registration fees less uniform costs.

2020-2021 Fall registrations will begin May 18, 2020, unfortunately we cannot have our Open House registration as we have done before due to social distancing and safety. What we will do is give you the option of registering in person if you make an appointment. Please contact [email protected] and arrangements will be made to accommodate your needs.

AYSO Summer Camps

Summer camps for June are still set to go, our team from UKI is preparing social distanced individual training for our kids. If June’s social gatherings restrictions turns into a no more than 5 people, they can still make it work. They will also be offering a Wednesday afternoon program beginning July 8 as a Segway to our 5v5.

New Board Members

Keith Metheney is our New Coach Administrator “Chief Coach”

Melissa Ramsey is our New Secretary and Scheduling Coordinator

Meredith Tafoya is our New Uniform Manager

Board Vacancies

Our biggest need is a Communications Director, we want to be able to have better communication with our parents and players, as well as our community.

We would like several volunteers to be Field Marshalls at our three main fields.

Uniform Vendor

We are also pleased to announce that Score Sports was voted to be our uniform provider for the Fall 2020- Spring 2021 season. Score Sports will be having a fan site, in which you will be able to purchase fan team gear to support your child’s team….. More to come on that!

Our ACT Program

The Advanced Competition Team program will be going into its 3rd year. We will be making a fundraiser available to make the cost of the uniform and tournament expenses easier for participating families. We are looking to expand that program, so Coaches reach out to our Asst Regional Commissioner if you want to be challenged and take players to that next level.

Our United Program

Our United coaches are challenged this year with having social distancing as part of their team tryouts. I have posted the list of coaches by age group and gender on our website. If you want to try out for a United Team, contact that coach and make an arrangement for a tryout. Here is a list of the 1447 United Coaches. Randall Rodriguez (U11 Girls), Richard Pankretz U10 Girls and U12 Boys), Adrian Jauriqui U16 Boys), Eric Covell U10 Boys)

Questions? Always feel free to contact any board member. Thank you for your time and thank you for being part of Region 1447.

My fellow board members and I ask you stay safe and well, we wish you and your families all the very best always!

C. Jeff Bajin

Regional Commissioner
